Dylan “The Chief” Rogers has been eating biltong since day dot.
High protein, on-the-go healthy snacking was always a big part of The Chief’s life. A professional rugby player for over 10 years, including a stint at Connacht, it was actually a necessity. Being a Saffa, growing up in the Eastern Cape, biltong was his natural snack of choice.
Living and playing rugby abroad, The Chief struggled to find the quality of biltong that he was used to so he decided to start his own biltong company. In 2015, Dylan partnered with rugby teammate Matthew Rosslee to launch Biltong Chief in Hong Kong. It soon became the number 1 biltong brand and was even stocked in the stadium during the Hong Kong 7s!
After retiring from professional rugby in 2019, The Chief moved back to Ireland with his Irish family and realised there was an opportunity to expand the Biltong Chief business and brand by using the globally accepted and much loved Irish grass-fed beef to make delicious biltong in Ireland.
